As soon as yellow wallpaper is complemented with dark or bright shades of curtains, the room takes on clear boundaries and seems heavy. Light shades of curtains and tulle, on the contrary, add space and visually rid the space of borders.
Much in this case depends on the temperature of the facing paints: lightness is created by combining cold yellow wallpaper diluted with white and curtains of a blue, light turquoise hue. Wherein it is important to combine the two tones softly: for example, to the yellow color of the wallpaper and the blue tone of the curtains, it is better to add a beige shade of the floor and turquoise textiles of pastel linen or decorative pillows.
The combination with burgundy looks heavier. In this case, wallpaper patterns are undesirable. One has only to show the uniqueness of the texture relief cladding. In order not to overload the interior, it is better to choose translucent textiles.
The combination of yellow wallpaper with blue curtains is one of the most difficult.
If you want bright contrasts, you should use them in drawing or curtain decor. It is better to choose yellow-brown curtains with white tulle and a discreet pattern (for example, circles, floral stylization) or interesting patterns on a beige background for such a wall decoration. This solution is great for country-style interior compositions.
If it is necessary to maintain the classic direction, it is simply impossible to find curtains better than white, beige, light peach shades. It is these curtains that are able to support yellow wallpaper better than other tones. To better see them it is worth complementing the yellow canvases with a contrasting paired companion.
Combination with furniture
In a room decorated with yellow wallpaper, furniture should be contrasting, preferably diluted in different tones. Remember that the color is complex and therefore needs to be dispensed. If monophonic wallpaper is chosen as the basis for cladding, which you want to support with similar furniture, choose a set that is different from the shade of the canvases. Thus, it is possible to avoid merging of the two furnishing elements into a single light spot.
Better to pick up furniture with contrasting frame trim... For example, woody chocolate legs and sides.
If you want to add decorative gilding to the interior, it is better to do this by decorating lamps or minor accessories (floor lamp legs, moldings or mirror frames).
The perfect solution is the use of furniture in the interior white... For example, it looks harmonious in the kitchen and bathroom. For the interior of a living room or study, it is better to choose wood shades. The darker they are, the more solid the setting.
In the bedroom and living room, furniture in a diluted white yellow-orange tone with a cocoa shade pattern looks good. A good design move would be to use gold-coated textiles on a brown background. A sofa and armchairs of a milky shade, made of leather, are suitable for the dark yellow tone of the wallpaper.

Choosing furniture and curtains, exclude their coincidence in tone, otherwise the interior runs the risk of becoming boring. Ideally, there should be at least four shades of the color palette in the space. They need to be selected as follows: two main contrasts (starting from the color of wallpaper and furniture) and two shades that soften the transition of contrasts (one close in tone to wallpaper, the other to furniture).

- to make the yellow tint of the wallpaper look stylish, expensive and appropriate, exclude from the selection list budget paper varieties of a thin and glossy plan, choose between vinyl, non-woven, textile, liquid analogs or paintable glass wallpaper (they will last longer and their texture is much better);
- if the shade is close to hot, do not choose a canvas with an abundance of gold in the pattern, since cold coatings with embossed ornament look much better on the walls;
- so that the surface of the cladding is flawless, buy wide meter wallpaper reducing the number of joints and simplifying wall decoration;
