For this reason, the thickness and material for the manufacture of this element should be chosen, relying on what work will be carried out in the future. Another important detail is a smooth surface of the table. If you do not comply with this recommendation, it will not be possible to make an accurate mill. If it is important to assemble a homemade machine with your own hands so that it can be done by decent quality of the workpiece, then this is one of the most important conditions.

How to make the machine with your own hands

The order of assembling this device begins with the fact that it is necessary to determine the location of the engine. Best option It is considered to install this element under the table. Today I will tell you just about the stonecraft. This machine is needed to my brother, seriously the fondant petrified trees. In the future, this machine will be intended for sawing fossil trees.

Before the start of work in my location there were photos of similar machines, it was possible to visit the stone workshop, where the operating machine was shown. I well represented the device and the principle of operation of this machine, thought out the design of the homemade machine. I wanted to make a convenient and compact machine, I think, as a result, it turned out.

Brother has already had some workers: a single-phase engine with a capacity of 0.75 kW was acquired, the hub is turned out for bearings and a shaft. The engine and hub were located on one platform.

The hub was made with a large margin of strength, and as a result, there were considerable dimensions. Because of this, a significant part of the saw blade is "eaten", and the discs of large diameter are expensive. I decided to make the hub of my own design, using the UCP-205 hull bearings. These bearings have proven themselves in operation of the ski lift.

Rama is welded from corners and a rectangular profile. Rama reminds rectangular parallelepiped. Overall dimensions of frame 600 * 400 mm.

After making a frame cut out of 3mm billets for a future tank under water. The tank with water is designed to cool the saw disk.

True, during the work, it was necessary to cut off one rack, because it prevented the electric motor pulley. In the future, the rack was replaced by the corner. And in general, the racks could also be made from the corners.

After carrying out the main welding and assembly works, the future machine looked like this.

As already wrote above, the hull Bearings UCP-205 were used in the hub. The shaft is sharpened from the semi-axis of the car ZIL-157. True, the workpiece had to be burned, turning machine No teeth had such an axis. Here I immediately remembered the Soviet quality.

Having made the necessary calculations, it came to the conclusion that the engine revolutions would be enough to cut the stone and the disk will not split, so the transmission is 1: 1. A tripartuous aluminum pulley of the shaft of the motor motor-block was purchased. From this pulley were made two pulleys for the stone machine.

The tabletop machine is made of 3 mm of leaf iron. The table top is attached to the frame with 17 M6 bolts. Botes with a secret head, and the openings of the required diameter and depth are drilled on the worktop, thanks to this, the caps are not exhibited above the surface.

So looked the machine after the first painting. Painting with the use of an aerosol cylinder.

The side walls of the machine are closed with a stainless steel grid with a shallow cell. The grid is fixed with aluminum corners and M6 bolts.

Small modifications are coming: installing a protective visor above the saw disk, installation of protective casing for an electric motor. Do not forget about the ground when working with this machine, all the same water is next to the engine.

During the first test, it turned out that the water into the tank should be poured quite a bit, so that the saw blade goes into water by 5-10 mm, otherwise there is a strong splashing of water and work on the machine becomes dangerous.

On this stonecraft machine, when using a large saw blade, you can cut the blanks with a thickness of up to 90 mm. The water tank is removable, it is necessary for washing the tank from the residues of the stone particles.
